From local markets to the dining table, discover how the Mekong connects the culinary stories of Vietnam and Cambodia.
Food can reveal something about a place before anyone begins to explain it.
In Phnom Penh and Long Xuyen, the story unfolds through market stalls, familiar ingredients and conversations with local vendors. These everyday scenes offer a closer look at the people and traditions behind the food of Vietnam and Cambodia. From here, the journey continues to the kitchen aboard Victoria Mekong.

Two Traditions Along One River
Life along the Mekong has created many connections between Vietnam and Cambodia. Their cuisines share an appreciation for fresh produce, aromatic herbs and balanced flavours, while remaining distinct in character.
This individuality guides the culinary experience aboard Victoria Mekong. Rather than blending the two cuisines into one, our culinary team allows each tradition to speak for itself, creating thoughtful connections between them along the way.
Two distinct culinary cultures, connected by one river.
From the Market to the Table
Three dishes bring this story to life.
Chicken Amok reflects the warmth of Cambodian cooking through tender chicken, traditional kroeung and coconut milk, presented in banana leaf.
Cơm Tấm carries the familiar flavours of Southern Vietnam, with smoky pork, broken rice and accompaniments prepared with care.
Beef Kroeung with Vietnamese Papaya Salad places the aromatic depth of Cambodian spices beside the freshness of Vietnamese herbs and green papaya. Each element keeps its own character, yet they feel naturally at home on the same plate.

Dining as Part of the Journey
The experience continues as each dish leaves the kitchen.
A morning meal accompanies the river view. Later in the day, dinner arrives as the landscape settles into softer light. Around the table, careful service and small details from the onboard team allow guests to enjoy the food at the same pace as the journey.
Here, dining offers another way to understand the Mekong. Every ingredient leads back to a place, a tradition or a community along the river.
